Downstream of the Yacyretá dam, on the upper Paraná in Corrientes, one of the best dorado settings in the country. The water leaving the turbines concentrates fish and oxygen and builds exceptional riffles.
The dorado is worked with spinning and fly at the foot of the wall and around the islands; there is also surubí, boga, pirá pitá and sábalo. Season from spring to autumn with the Corrientes closure. Ituzaingó has boat ramps, guides and lodging, and is a classic base for catch-and-release dorado fishing.
