The national capital of the golden dorado, on the Paraná in Corrientes facing islands and side channels. A mecca for dorado on the fly and on spinning; also surubí, pacú and manguruyú.
The peak season runs from spring to autumn (October to April), respecting the Corrientes spawning closed season. You go out by boat with a guide to work the rapids, channel mouths and current seams; on the fly, an 8-to-10 outfit with a steel leader. The town, about 30 km from the city of Corrientes, lives off fishing and is full of guides, lodges and ramps.

Boga: 2 por pescador, máximo 6 por embarcación. Manguruyú: veda indefinida. Prohibido transportar dorados fuera de la provincia y transportar ejemplares trozados o fileteados. Tramo km 1232 a 1238: vedado de forma recurrente por disposiciones extraordinarias de Recursos Naturales de Corrientes (Disp. 989 del 12/9/2023; Disp. 898; Disp. 618 del 29/5/2026, levantada por Disp. 639/26 el 3/6/2026). Los Cables (km 1229) figura citado como límite en la Disp. 618/2026, que es una de esas disposiciones de veda: el alcance real del tramo puede ser mayor y está sin verificar. Las vedas extraordinarias se dictan de un día para el otro: hay que chequear la veda vigente en recnaturalesctes.gob.ar antes de salir.
