Puerto Gaboto está sobre el río Coronda, en el punto donde el Coronda recibe al Carcarañá, a unos 7 km de su boca al Paraná. Los pesqueros con nombre propio de la zona son riachos, arroyos, bocas y correderas. A la costa se entra por la avenida Alameda, y el camping municipal está sobre la barranca del Coronda.
Isla del Sapo se hace de costa con artificiales y también embarcado, al garete o a la espera con carnada viva —morena, anguila o cascarudo—, a profundidades no superiores a un metro, sobre barrancas, palos y bancos. Arroyo Agua Negra, de costa con artificiales o embarcado al garete. El Riacho de los Terneros, el Riacho Paranacito, la Boca del Timbo Colorado y la Boca de Julio se pescan de costa y embarcado. El Arroyo Los Reyes es el de a pie: cursos que se recorren caminando, con artificiales, spinning y fly cast. Las correderas junto a las islas del delta son para el que tiene lancha: carnada viva y paciencia sobre correderas, aguadas, salidas de canales y descargas de aguas negras.
Octubre se repite en la temporada de siete de los ocho pesqueros, en todos ellos por el dorado y en algunos también por la tararira; de las correderas del delta todavía no tenemos temporada. El tope de dorado que se cita para la zona anda cerca de las veinte libras, y va con devolución obligatoria (Ley 12.722). El surubí de acá es de cachorros de cinco a diez kilos, vedado del 1 de noviembre al 31 de diciembre. Atrás vienen boga, patí, chafalote, manduva, pirá pitá y sábalo. Atención si vas con tráiler: confirmá el estado de las bajadas antes de salir, porque en 2021 un desprendimiento de barranca destruyó la del Club Náutico y de la provisoria del camping municipal todavía no tenemos más que el anuncio. Aparte de la pesca, el viaje suma Sancti Spiritu, el primer asentamiento europeo del país (1527).
