The great lowland river of Buenos Aires province, winding across the low pampas and feeding much of the pejerrey (silverside) lagoon system. Pejerrey, tararira, catfish and baitfish in its slow, muddy waters.
You fish from shore and from a boat: pejerrey in the more open reaches, tararira on lures among the vegetation, catfish on the bottom all year. Its long course offers many access points at towns and bridges, in the heart of the cattle pampas.
