A large lagoon in southern Santa Fe, next to the town of the same name, with slightly salty water and a huge pejerrey (silverside) tradition. A broad sheet of water on the humid pampas, a tournament venue.
The pejerrey is fished drifting from a boat and from shore, with a very good season in autumn and winter. Melincué has yacht clubs, ramps and lodging, and its lagoon is a classic of pejerrey fishing in southern Santa Fe and northern Buenos Aires.
