El bagre blanco es uno de los bagres más buscados de los ríos del Litoral, y se pesca casi siempre de fondo, embarcado o desde la costa.
Pesca de fondo (la técnica clásica)
- Ubicá un pozón, un remanso o la salida de una correntada donde el fondo tenga algo de barro o arena.
- Armá un aparejo de fondo con plomada corrediza (tipo "correntino" o paternoster) para que el pez sienta poca resistencia al tomar la carnada.
- Cebá con carnada de olor fuerte: mojarra, morena, achura o lombrizón bien anclado en el anzuelo.
- Apoyá la caña y esperá con la línea semi-tensa; el pique suele ser una serie de golpes secos antes de la corrida.
- Dejá que se lleve unos segundos la carnada antes de clavar, así el anzuelo prende bien en la boca dura.
- Peleá con la caña baja y firme: el bagre blanco tira fuerte al fondo pero no suele saltar.
También se lo pesca embarcado, a la deriva sobre canales profundos, dejando bajar la carnada hasta tocar fondo y recogiendo un poco para no engancharse.
Tips de guía: pica bien de día pero se activa mucho al atardecer y de noche. Cuidado con la aleta pectoral y dorsal: tienen una espina rígida y puede lastimar si lo agarrás mal; sujetalo por detrás de la cabeza con un trapo o red.
